Domestic hot water storage tanks are very often implicated in outbreaks of Legionnaires’ disease. Periodic flushing, cleaning, and disinfection of domestic hot water tanks is necessary to ensure that clean and sanitary water is available throughout a facility.
A cleaning protocol should be performed on domestic hot water tanks on an annual basis and more often if environmental conditions dictate. The State of New York, Department of Health, for example, requires that “hot water storage tanks be drained, cleaned, and disinfected at least annually.”
Barclay’s Environmental Group will provide a written report showing before and after photographs to validate the effectiveness of our cleaning of your facility’s domestic hot water storage tanks.
Barclay Water Management maintains a Building Water Tank Cleaning permit issued by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
