Air handling coils easily become fouled with dust and grime and when these coils are fouled they do not provide the proper air flow, resulting in greater energy consumption. It has been estimated that dirty coils are responsible for as much as 1/3 of a facility’s wasted energy. In addition, coil capacity, measured as cubic feet per minute of air flow, can be reduced by as much as 30% if air handling coils become dirty. Fouled coils also increase operating temperatures which break down compressor lubricants and ultimately shorten the life of this equipment. Barclay’s Environmental Group performs coil cleaning in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s recommendations. We use Best Practice and our technicians always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment and follow all safety precautions. Following each coil cleaning, we provide a written report with beforeandafter photographs to validate our cleaning procedure and provide you with permanent written documentation.
